Rehoboth Beach Bears, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer-based, social organization in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The mission of the Rehoboth Beach Bears is to provide inclusive fellowship and fraternity while raising money for charities whose missions provide for community betterment. Our coastal town is an LGBT-friendly vacation destination for residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, DC, New York and beyond, and is proud to boast a very active group of bears! In addition to our annual Bear Weekend, we offer year-round events for the bear and ally communities. One hundred percent of every dollar raised is spent fulfilling our mission. In addition to planning events for the Bear community enjoyment, the Rehoboth Beach Bears raise funds for local not-for-profit community groups that serve to feed and clothe the hungry and homeless, LGBTQ organizations and HIV/AIDS service providers, as well as cultural and educational outlets. Following the great success of our Bear Weekends, the Bears expanded their benevolent gifts to include the endowment of a scholarship fund that awarded our first scholarships to the Class of 2017 providing several $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors - leaders among their peers and active members in their school’s Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA). It is our goal to continue building on the positive response we’ve received to this scholarship program and expand it to additional schools within the state.

As an organization that relies entirely on volunteers, we welcome anyone who is looking to give back to the community with their time - be it for an event, or even as a board member. We are proud to have a board made up of community members from surrounding states!
